How Do We Learn?

Because this event has been designed to help you learn how to race, Cycling Southland has also developed some new coaching sessions with the specific aim to teach you how to race each of the above events along with the tactics involved in each.

The RacingCoach programme will be managed by Cycling Southland’s coaching staff, Regional Coach Ross Machejefski and Development Officer Matt Archibald and provide specific coaching for the Business Team Race Night.

Again, limited places are available in these sessions so confirming your spot early is advised.

You can choose your weekly session time, either Tuesday evening, 6.30p-8.00pm or Thursday morning 6.45am-8.15am.

THE FULL SIX WEEK RACINGCOACH PROGRAMME IS ONLY $90+GST, WHICH INCLUDES ALL OF YOUR TRACK HIRE FEES. CYCLING SOUTHLAND MEMBERSHIP ALSO COMES AS PART OF THIS ONE-OFF FEE FOR THOSE NOT YET MEMBERS

Other Sessions:

As a Cycling Southland member you can also attend our weekly sessions below for only $5 per session;

Lunch Rolls  Mondays to Friday  12pm-1pm
This session is an hour-long endurance roll-around session designed to build your fitness base for the event.

Intermediate Roll  Wednesdays 6pm-7pm
This open session is again perfect for building endurance and gaining experience riding in trains.

BOW/WOW    Wednesdays  7pm-8pm (Boys) 8pm-9pm (Women)
For our more senior age riders only, the Boys on Wheels (35 years and above) and Women of Wheels (19 years and above) sessions provide coaching for riders and will also provide introductory skills to get you racing.

Club Racing   Fridays 8pm-9.30pm
Friday night the track will light up every week with our Cycling Southland Club racing. Our Senior Club Night is being moved to Friday night following the Junior Division racing. This makes the ILT Velodrome the place to be on Friday after work and gives the club and supporters the chance to get together for a fun end to the week. It will be a blast and will also provide the perfect racing experience with riders of similar ability and experience.
