Purpose:  To provide encouragement and motivation for Junior Riders at the Stadium Southland Velodrome.

We are very excited to announce that the well-known and well respected Baxter & Neilson Junior Omnium series kicks off next month, catering for both males and females in the Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 grades. The series is sponsored by our incredibly supportive and loyal sponsors - Baxter & Neilson Plumbers Limited - and, once again, there are some great prizes up for grabs!

Each race night will feature a selection, for each age group, of the six events which feature in an Olympic Omnium, including:  Flying Lap, Points Race, Individual Pursuit, Scratch Race, Time Trial, Elimination.

The race nights will be held on the following Friday nights from 6pm-7.30pm:

29 June

20 July

10 August

7 September

28 September

26 October

9 November

16 November

The Prizegiving will be held on 16 November following racing.

At the conclusion of each race night, gift vouchers will be presented to the winners and the Series Leader’s Jerseys for each grade will also be presented, which the leader in each grade is eligible to wear until the end of the next race night.

At the conclusion of the series, the leader in each Grade will receive a Trophy to keep, a Jersey to keep and those moving up to U19 Grade will be eligible to use to Baxter & Neilson Plumbers Development Team Equipment.  All participants in the series will be monitored by Baxter & Neilson Plumber’s Team advisors for possible inclusion as a full Team Member as vacancies become available.

All participants in the competition will receive an achievement certificate at the Prizegiving in November.

We are really looking forward to the start of the series on 29 June and hope to see all Cycling Southland’s U13, U15 and U17 riders - from the newbies to the experienced, taking part in this fantastic and fun competition!!
