Hi everyone and wow it is certainly humming at the Velodrome lately,

The Junior Talent Development Camp and Mid-Winter Carnival are over and what a week that was too. The depth of talent we’ve been hosting here was mighty impressive and the racing across all age groups at the Carnival was totally awesome.

Architecture Unlimited Corporate Pursuit
Next up is the Architecture Unlimited Corporate Pursuit this Sunday with action kicking off from 9.30am. It is always an awesome day of racing and entry is just a gold coin donation for adults – so it’s well worth heading down.
Good luck to all the teams involved and thank you to our merry band of helpers for the day.

King House Removal Race Series
This much anticipated race series gets underway this Friday from 6pm, so make sure you are ready and raring to go.

Payments can me made online to 03-1742-0014588-00 and reference your name/king please.

Early birds were $70, the week up to yesterday is $80 and any registrations from today are now $100 with a late fee incurred. Casual racing is $20 a night.

Road Racing
Another great turn out for the Fitzsimons Building first handicap race of the year at Rimu on Saturday. View the race report

This Saturday is the Jason Barlow Building graded race with a 40km (5 laps) senior race and 24km or 3 laps for social riders.

Under 13's - 3 laps (24km)
Under 15's - 4 laps (32km) Results for each gender.
Under 17's - 5 laps (40km) in the senior grades.

Under 13's and 15's let Brendon McLeod know if you will be riding so he can enter you on the start list.
For all Junior riders the junior gear restrictions apply across all grades.
Wheels must have a minimum of 16 spokes and rims must not be made from composite materials. (excludes U19 Men & U19 Women)

Track Sessions
Please ensure you sign in for all sessions that you attend. The folders are now kept on the table in the centre of the ‘D,’ with the exception of the wet weather ride folder, which is still in the holder on the railing at the top of the tunnel.
There is no Rockets again today 4-5pm, this resumes next week. Tonight is a club roll so feel free to head down between 6-8pm.

There will be no wet weather rec ride this Sunday due to the Corporate Pursuit. The following week the session will move forward to the new time of 12-2pm for the rest of the season.

Flyers and Secondary Students sessions resume next week once school restarts.

Coaching Course|
Cycling NZ are looking to host a Coaching Course in Alexandra on the weekend of August 25-27. This is a fantastic foundation course for anyone wanting to get involved in our great sport at a coaching level.

The course fee is normally $260 (now includes the Police vetting charges) however if a venue can be found for no cost it will reduce the fee to $160. Cycling Southland will reimburse half of the course upon completion of the paperwork for the qualification.  Please contact Mark in the office for more details or email Chris.Foggin@cyclingnewzealand.nz.
