Good crispy morning from a very white and chilly Deep South today!
The snow and sleet came big time last night and then it tried to freeze so a bit of a slippery drive in this morning. Well it’s prizegiving and AGM time looming so let’s get cracking into it all.
Cycling Southland 2015 Prizegiving
Don’t forget to get your tickets (we really need this done today please) for our annual prizegiving being held at Ascot Park Hotel this Thursday. Doors open 6.30pm and formalities start from 7pm. This is a great club night to celebrate the success of the past year and please note all Track and Road Club Championship medals will be presented along with several other individual awards, plus a guest speaker. Let the office know if you wish to purchase tickets ASAP – just $15 each and antipasto platters and nibbles will be served. We’d love to see you all there for a great night out.
This will be held on Tuesday 21 July. All notices and nomination documents will be issued very soon.

There is no Junior Division meeting this Thursday, the next meeting is scheduled for 7.30pm Thursday 23 July.
Can all orders for frozen sides of lamb be kept up to date with Alan Strong. Any club members wanting a side of lamb should contact a Junior Division parent.
The Baxter & Neilson series dates are imminent so watch this space.
Tuesday Senior Racing
Sid will be along to Senior Racing tonight to help out and if seniors and masters are keen they may hold a Sprint Festival next Tuesday. Remember to head down to the track from 7-9pm.
Saturday Road Racing
The winter race programme kicked off in the style last weekend with the Rimu Graded Circuit. Check out the results
This weekend is the Waianiwa double-banger Time Trial and Teams Race, kicking off at 10am Register here now
Make sure you check out your marshalling and management duties view the programme here and remember you are responsible for swapping or finding a replacement if you are unable to fulfil your duty please.
These school holidays we will be holding a holiday programme for those aged 10-15 on Wednesday 8 and 15 of July. There will be four one hour sessions from 1-2pm and 2-3pm both days and the cost is $6 per session. Register your kids now at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 219 9325.
Yunca Junior Tour and ILT Junior Track Carnival
Spread the word as entries are now open for this year’s Yunca Junior Tour of Southland and the ILT Junior Track Carnival – both of which precede the Oceania Track Champsionships – it’s going to be a busy week or so this one!

South Island Secondary School Road Champs
A good contingent of southern students headed to Christchurch last week to compete in the South Island Secondary School Champs. A fine effort was put in by all in some pretty chilly conditions and there were some top results. Read them here
