PowerNet Tour of Southland

The PowerNet Tour of Southland is recognised as New Zealand's leading multi-stage cycling tour. The event has established a proud and colourful history for over 50 years and continues to attract immense interest both nationally and internationally.

The Tour was awarded a UCI category 2.2 classification a few years ago which has helped elevate the race to a new high and we look forward with confidence to making continual improvement to the event.

The Southland region eagerly awaits this year's 52nd Tour and is proud to host this major sporting occasion, which offers an exciting challenge to all involved.

On behalf of the Board and staff of PowerNet Limited and the Tour of Southland Organising Committee I extend a very warm welcome to all intending riders and visitors and look forward to meeting you in early November.

I am sure you will enjoy the experience both of the Tour and visiting Southland.

Bruce Ross
Tour Manager

The PowerNet Tour of Southland is a six-day tour that offers some unique challenges. Known for serving up "four seasons in one day" and a couple of gut-busting hills, the Tour tends to sort out the "boys from the men" and makes an entertaining event for the general public and cycling enthusiasts.

Riders and support crew will notice the support from the communities as they pass. From the school children waving flags, to farmers parked at the farm gates, Southland stops and gets behind the Tour.

On behalf of the Board and staff of PowerNet Limited and the Tour of Southland Organising Committee, I extend our heartfelt thanks to all the local volunteers and individuals who offer their time and skills so enthusiastically prior to, during, and after the Tour.

CEO, PowerNet Limited
