Covid-19 response: Alert Level 2

Level 2:

With the return to Covid Alert Level 2 as of 12pm Wednesday 12 August, limits to social gathering sizes are back in play, with a limit of 100 people for outdoor venues (that would include road races) and venue specific limits for indoor venues, to be clarified with Stadium Southland as soon as possible. However, public facilities like Stadium Southland (and therefore the SIT ZeroFees Velodrome remain open under Level 2, so until further notice track training sessions will go ahead).

Guidelines for exercise under Level 2:

Although sport and recreation activities are allowed, it is subject to conditions on gatherings, record keeping, and physical distancing where practical.
*Where possible avoid physical contact and keep some level of social distancing, so where practical avoid any training drills where physical contact is likely to occur.
*Keep a diary of where you were and when, so it is possible to contact trace should there be a second wave of Covid-19 infections.
*Please maintain good hygiene - go to the back of the group before clearing your nose. Better yet, take a hankerchief, blow your nose, and dispose of appropriately at home.

ILT Stadium Southland and SIT Zero Fees Velodrome:

We will update any limits to number of riders allowed per session or Stadium Southland hours as soon as we have the infomation. We still require registration through Webscorer to ensure contact tracing and to help our coaches plan their sessions.

Stadium access:

There may also be changes to requirements for entering the venue - under the previous Level 2 restrictions only the main entrance of Stadium Southland was to be used, with the Stadium's own contact tracing / occupancy management system. We will update should any of these requirements come back into play. Access to the velodrome is currently possible through the velodrome entrance for those with a swipe card. Those without a swipe card should still use the main entrance of Stadium Southland. If would like to get a swipe card, please contact the Cycling Southland office.
