Well, the final event of the year is officially done and dusted and what a relief it is to have successfully navigated our way through the last few months of busy action on both the road and the track!

A huge congrats to all those who gave it their best during our Southland Track Champs over the weekend – it was another epic event and there were certainly a plethora of PBs getting pushed out over the three massive sessions – a huge thank you to all the volunteers – including those riding as well – who took time out to again help ensure this event ran smoothly! We can officially say you all deserve a well-earned break over Christmas and the New Year. Thank you so much everyone for all your help over the year – we couldn’t do it without you.

Check out the full race reports here and all the photos on Facebook

Remember we will next be needing a hand at the New Year Carnival on 17 and 18 January so if you’re back from holidays and okay to lend a hand we’d love to hear from you.

Also don’t forget to support the Tuatapere Grass Track Racing on 1 January at the Tuatapere Domain from around midday. There’s always great cash prizes to win so it’s well worth the effort if you’re around on New Year’s/ There is always the Browns Road Race and Browns Sports Day Grass Track Racing with the road race a 10.45am report for 11.30am race start at Coopers Corner and 12.30pm grass racing at Browns. If anyone is interested in supporting these events let Tony Ineson know on 217 4920.

Christmas Opening|
Last week we announced the possibility of having the Velodrome open for a few sessions during the Christmas break (the proposed days are Monday 23rd, Monday 30th, Friday 3rd, from 10am-12 or 1pm), but we needed someone to put their hand up to volunteer to learn how to open and close the stadium.  We had an overwhelming response to this….not one person!  If there is anyone keen to learn to learn, then please let Dale know before Thursday 12th December at 12pm, otherwise there will be no track openings over the Christmas break (which runs from 12pm December 20th to January 6th).
