Academy Southland provides performance services and support to assist Southland’s aspiring and talented athletes to achieve and inspire on the national and international stage by developing people, athletes, coaches and officials.
As the 2019 year begins, it is timely that I take this opportunity to remind you of the important role Regional Sporting Organisations play in relation to the application process for the 2019 Academy Southland programme.
Each year up to a maximum of twelve (12) Southland athletes will be given the opportunity to be included in the Programme for a two year period. The first year of the programme offers athletes the foundation skills required to achieve in a high performance sports environment. Those athletes who excel in the first year may be selected for inclusion in a second year programme building on principles from year one.
