On the eve before heading to the first World Cup in Mexico, Cam Kawowski is stoked to officially announce that he'll be riding for the Avanti Racing Team during the 2015 season.
Junior world champions Regan Gough and Luke Mudgeway will join the team in their first serious foray on the road while Omnium and kilo specialist Cameron Karwowski will slot in as an integral part of the sprint squad.
“Cameron has been racing in Europe on the road with Veranclassic- Doltcini Continental Team,” said team manager Steve Price.
“He’s a big strong lad and puts out some pretty impressive numbers so we’re keen to get him dialed in and ripping up the sprints.”
Gough and Mudgeway partnered to win the world title in the Madison at the Junior World Track Championships in South Korea earlier this year with Gough also winning the point’s race.
“Regan and Luke are a work in progress," said Price.
"They obviously have a massive amount of talent but they are young and have heavy track commitments too. We’ll be working closely with their Bike NZ track coaches to ensure that their programs compliment each other. It will be a steep learning curve but we are confident we can steer them in the right direction and help them gain success on the road as well as the track.”
The latest signings come on the back of the announcement of Patrick Bevin joining the team and the re-signing of Joe Cooper and Taylor Gunman.
