Hi everyone and we hope you are all easing back the New Year routines without any hassles.
Well things are certainly about to crank up here with a full on few days of New Year Cycling Series action.

Gore to Invercargill Classic this Thursday 21 January
Yes this popular classic kicks off the action on Thursday and entries close tomorrow so Register online now 6pm race start from the Gore Town and Country Club and the race will finish this year on Racecourse Road opposite the Ascot Raceway entrance. Volunteers for marshalling please would be greatly appreciated. Great prize money up for grabs so be in to win!

ILT New Year Carnival
Entries close on Thursday for our ILT New Year Carnival and we will start introducing a late fee for entries received after this so get in now and sort it Enter here now Event entry is $10 seniors and $5 juniors each night. Racing starts at 6pm both nights with a fun and varied programme about to be finalised.

If anyone can lend a hand volunteering for this event, you know we would love to hear from you please. Spectator entry will be $10 with U15s free.

Ascot Park Hotel Criteriums
The flurry of the New Year events will then finish with our popular Ascot Park Hotel Criteriums around their car park on Sunday 24 January, with racing starting at 10.30am. Again this is for all age groups so Enter online here as they also close midday Thursday. The more the merrier and some great racing is again anticipated. Racing starts at 10.30am and again great prize money is up for grabs so it is certainly a weekend for earning some extra pocket money.

Saturday Road Racing
There is no racing this weekend due to the Carnival and the Distinction Hotel Milford Mountain Classic.

The following weekend Saturday 30 January will be the McQuarrie Street Handicap Race out the Gorge Road Highway and back. 40km all grades and 20km for juniors. 10am assembly for 10.30am race start. Assemble in McQuarrie Street and prizegiving is at the Southland Tavern. Register online here

Cycle Surgery & Zookeepers Café Wednesday Worlds
Our popular weekly summer series of racing restarts again on Wednesday 27 January with 6pm assembly at Rimu School until the end of the end of the season this year due to major road works on the Tisbury circuit. So meet along from Rimy School – but keep the car park clear once school restarts. Entry is $5 and racing starts at 6.30pm.

Vital Signs Tour de Lakes
Information and dates around Tour de Lakes are out again for this 21st annual Easter whirl around Central, Lakes and Fiordland. View the details and entry form

Next Club Meeting – Meet Mark the GM
The next general club meeting will be held on Monday 15 February at 6pm in the Sarah Ulmer Lounge. All welcome so spread the word. An agenda will be circulated nearer the time.

Finally Congrats to Matt, Jeremy, Tarsh and Tom on your efforts at the UCI World Cup Track in Hong Kong recently. There were some nighty fine results and improvements and PBs, so well done and huge good luck for the Rio team announcements!
