Welcome back to Term 2 everyone and it’s great to have so much going on at the track again with NCEA and schools coming indoors to keep active in the cooler months ahead.

And wow the track is looking minter to greet them after a willing group of troopers, rustled up by Dave Beadle and Sid Cumming rallied last Friday and Saturday to whip the blue into shape with a clean and paint job. Nice work juniors (and several seniors!) on the handy work – very much appreciated.

Notice of a Special General Meeting
At the Executive Meeting Monday 21 April 2015, it was formally moved to adopt the constitutional changes proposed by the sub-committee working on the Constitutional review. The main change is to have two year terms for executive members rather than the current one year terms to give greater continuity of the executive.

The proposed Constitutional changes are as presented in the attachment above and relate to the number of members on the Executive and the election cycle for individual roles; tenure of appointment of President and Vice President, the process of appointment re the Vice President.

A Special General Meeting will be held on the Tuesday 26 May at 7.30pm to discuss the proposed changes to the Executive and the Constitution. Further detail will be issued in due course, including detailed proposed wording changes in the Constitution.

Club Road Nationals
Well done to our small crew racing at the Club Road Nationals in Hawke’s Bay over Friday, Saturday and Sunday – between Southland and Central Otago-Wakatipu there was certainly some very strong southern representation across the age groups and several podium finishes among them.

Big congrats to Sam Miller (gold U17 road race), Nicole Shields (gold U17 road race & TT), John Alabaster (gold MM6 road & TT), Steve Brough (silver MM6 road), Georgia Vessey (U23 silver road), Mikayla Harvey (U19 gold road) – along with all those other mighty fine personal rides and close podium calls. Check out Alan’s full Southland club report

If there is anyone interested in shadowing Danielle (Rabbit) Ralph on the track timing system and learning how to use it during our track events, we would certainly love to hear from you!! Please holler Rabbit on [email protected] and stick your hand up. We will be ever-grateful.

So that’s it from me this week – so have a good one out there and remember to get along to our evening track sessions and Lunch Rolls during the cooler months. View the track schedule here
