Southland Track Champs
Entries close this Friday so make sure you get online now and get entered – otherwise there will be a LATE ENTRY FEE imposed.

Calling any willing helpers able to volunteer during this event. It starts from 5pm Friday night 1 December. It again runs from 9am Saturday until finishing late afternoon and then Sunday from 10am until finished.

It is intended to run this as a lead-in to the both Track Nationals so we need commissaires, door people, timers, whips, starting gates, registration desk, track access entry cover, stopwatch timers, results people and more. If you are keen to lend a hand please let me know as soon as possible thank you very much. Also please ensure you have a blue volunteer shirt if you are helping out or see me.

New Year Events
While we’re on the subject of volunteers, I’d love to hear from anyone also able to lend a hand at the New Year Track Carnival on the evenings of Friday 19 and Saturday 20 January. We will also be holding the Ascot Park Hotel Criteriums on Saturday 20 and will need helpers there too. Thank you – entries will be online soon for these.

Big Bike Film Night
Finally, back by popular demand, and it looks like another goodie, the Big Bike Film Night Feature Series will be hosting “All for One” on Tuesday 5 December, at 7pm, at SIT Centrestage Theatre.
Check out the promo here
“All for One” is a feature length film that follows the exploits of Australia's first professional road tour team GreenEDGE (now Orica Scott) over its first five years, which includes Kiwi Grand Tours, Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Championship veteran Julian Dean as part of the team from its first days in 2011. Prepare to be wowed and lock it in your calendars for a pre-Christmas treat – you won’t be disappointed.

Finally, a huge thank you to Julian Ineson and all the volunteer riders and helpers who put on one very slick demonstration hour last Wednesday night for the national CATE Conference that was held at the ILT Stadium Southland over three days. There was some terrific feedback from the event organisers and goers alike and it portrayed our organisation in a very good light indeed – Well done Julian and team – masterful stuff thank you!

So that’s it from me, we look forward to hearing from you if you can offer a hand at the Track Champs and/or New Year events. In the meantime – go team Southland at the Oceas!!!!
