Hi everyone and welcome to another week – and it happens to be a very big week for a number of our club members who have finished day four this morning of the Tour of New Zealand.
The three youngest are Mitchel Fitzsimons (U17) and Southland Boys’ High School team mate Jake Willis and Morgan Borrie (James Hargest High) (both U19s) who are competing as a schools team while fundraising for the very worthy cause Child Cancer. The lads are sitting in very respectable GC positions after today and fly to Rotorua this afternoon for a rest day tomorrow before continuing the North Island leg.
We also have Steve Rhodes, Alaister Burnett, Reuben Boniface and Neil Sutherland among our members taking part. Keep up the great work everyone!
Age Group Road Nationals
You have until just Monday 15 April to register for the Age Group Road National Championships being held in Timaru from 26 to 28 April. Just a heads up that Rachael Kelly will be your team manager up there so you will need to collect your race numbers from her after her managers meeting. Great to see so many – both young and those more mature – competing this year. If you still need to organise hiring a road jersey please see me at the office.
