Hi folks,
Well the weather is being a bit erratic again this week and that is a clear sign that it is SBS Bank Tour of Southland time again.
This Sunday all the action kicks off with the Gala on Gala Launch Party, including:
2pm: Team introductions and photos
3.15pm: Share the Road Ride with the Stars – kids bring your bikes and helmets and ride alongside some of the finest road racers around
3.45pm: Ricoh Corporate Road Team Time Trial
4.30pm: Prologue – Team Time Trial to kick of the official Tour
Check out all the details here and the course stages online
Make sure you head along and cheer the riders on and keep vocal as they whizz past on the roads throughout Southland during the rest of the seven stages.
Cycling Southland Elite and U19 Track Team
The Elite and U19 Track Nationals are being held at the Avantidrome in Cambridge from 23 – 26 January 2020. With the Southland Track Championships being held slightly later in December this year and the National Track Champs slightly earlier (with 2020 being an Olympic year) the Selectors have now opened expressions of interest for riders to select the Southland team.
Riders – please email your expression of interest for this representative team to the office [email protected] by Wednesday 13th November.
Coach and Manager – I am looking for expressions of interest for the Coach and Manager of this team, along with anyone who would be available to assist the team as a support/handler. The number of support staff required will be confirmed once the number of riders in the team have been selected. Please email expressions of interest to the GM [email protected] by Wednesday 13th November.
A reminder that this Friday is the last day for the $100 flight deposit if you have registered your interest to travel with the Elite/U19/Para team in January.
King House Removals Race Series Final Night
This Friday 1 November is the final race night of this year’s King House Removals Series. Racing starts at 6pm with a Gala Fun Night planned.
Board Required
From 13 November to mid-January (just prior to the Elite & U19 Track Nationals) Louis Hodgkinson is requiring accommodation/boarding arrangements as he is having to move out of his SIT unit. If anyone can help out – even for part of the time required, can you please liaise with his dad Jamie on 027 286 8255. It will be hugely appreciated.
Righty hoo that is it from me for another week and I’ll see you on the track if you’re not touring over the coming week!
Take care and go hard and fast to all our local tour riders and visiting competitors and team supporters – have a blast out there!
