Date: Tuesday, 22 August 2017

Happy Tuesday for another week folks,
Hope you are managing to steer clear of the winter lurgies that are floating about – no fun at all for sure!
It’s an action-packed instalment today so let’s get into it.

Bumper Club Raffle
Ticket sales close next Thursday 31 August and we will need all booklets and money back at the office by the end of the day please. This is because all prizes will be drawn next Friday.

Remember this is an extremely important major club fundraiser to help replace the current track bike fleet, which is very run down. It is a great way to do your part to give back to the club, so all assistance is hugely appreciated.

Please tidy up your last-minute sales and get those booklets back to the office. If anyone can still sell some more let me know as we still have some booklets left.

Architecture Unlimited Corporate Pursuit Survey
Now that the dust is settled and the bodies have recovered, we’d love to get some feedback on the Architecture Unlimited Corporate Pursuit. We’d love it if you could take five minutes to fill in the survey to help us make any required improvements.

Thanks for taking part in this awesome event – we hope to see you back next year!

Road Racing
Cycling Southland reminds all competitors about two important rules that apply to our club racing events.  The two following points are imposed in the best interest of rider and the general public’s safety.  We ask for your utmost co-operation in ensuring the overall safety of each event.

  • Crossing the centre line

59.5 On Open Roads, riders must keep left at all times. Riders who cross the centre line will be subject to sanctions as listed in Rule 24

24. SANCTIONS: 24.1 The following sanctions may be imposed on members: - warning - reprimand - relegation - disqualification - fine - suspension - withdrawal of licence

  • Motor pacing

There will be no motor pacing permitted in any circumstances during a Cycling Southland road event.  There are no exceptions to this ruling, which again is imposed in the best interest of rider safety.  Any rider caught motor pacing during a Cycling Southland road event, will be disqualified from the event immediately.

This Saturday is the HR Building Graded Race from Dacre to Hedgehope and back. Assembly is 1pm at the Dacre Hall for a 1.30pm race start.

King House Removals Omnium Series
You can now check out the full results and next race schedule for this Friday night’s action, starting from 6pm.

Nutrition seminar
Following several requests at the parents seminar last week, a nutrition seminar has been organised on Thursday 7 at 6.30pm (venue TBC) for both riders AND parents of U15 and U17 riders. Cost is $10 per family.
A follow-up meeting is also planned for Thursday September 28, cost $10.
If you're unsure what your young rider should be eating and when, this is an ideal opportunity to get specialist information from a nutrition. Bookings are essential because spaces are restricted so email [email protected] to secure your place.

Aero bars
Does anyone some old aero bars floating around at home that are no longer required? It would be great to take them off your hands so we can loan them to U17 riders. Drop them off to the office please.
