Hi everyone,
It’s over half way through July already and boy we are still getting off light with the weather down here. It’s been great for the start of the winter road racing programme and still everyone is making the most of the open track sessions on offer as well. There’s just still plenty to keep everyone busy and happy and there’s even more coming up to look forward to too!
Subway Series Two
The second round of the Cycling NZ Subway track series was held in Cambridge over the weekend with 17 travelling to this event joined by Corbin and Sophie who are in Cambridge with the Junior Worlds lead-in camp. The second event was much bigger than our first one here in the south, with almost twice the number of athletes, including a couple who had travelled over from Oz. Check out all the results
Our team were very fortunate to have support from Chubb at the Middle Pub in Winton who provided a van and Baz Janssen Building also of Winton who provided his large covered trailer for getting the luggage to Queenstown Airport and home again. A special thanks to Mike Green and the parents who transported and collected the group from Queenstown.
The series continued to build on the first round with lots of racing and a couple of seminars. As an indication Corbin did almost 120k’s track racing on Saturday, with plenty of opportunity to learn and improve for all involved. The third round will also be held in Cambridge over 24-26th of August, if you are interested in attending or have any questions contact Sid.

So that’s me being short and sweet this week (factual and true he he) – so keep spinning those wheels and keep away from the winter lurgies.
To all the kids and parents who are heading off tomorrow morning with Rabbit on the annual Junior Division camp, which is being held at Borland Lodge this year, enjoy yourselves and have a lot of fun and revel in the challenges you will be having. It will be a blast!
