Hi everyone,
Well it’s only two weeks no until we close, which is both exciting and daunting considering most of us haven’t had time to even think about Christmas yet!
This weekend’s Southland Track Champs should be an awesome way to end the year with 150 entries and a UCI C1 Paracycling points event for Rio as well. Our sessions are 6pm on Friday and 10am and sessions finish on both Saturday and Sunday.
Spectator entry is free so don’t forget to head along and support all the competitors. Tomorrow from 10am the paracyclists, including New Zealand, Australia and Malaysia will be holding a Time Trial on the Banxholme circuit so head on out and cheer them on if you can get a chance. Tuatapere Sports Day
Stick New Year’s Day in your calendar for a fun and rewarding event again this year at the Tuatapere Sports Day – starting at 1pm – great prize money up for grabs for this good fun grass racing – head along and support it.
Browns Sports Day
While on the subject of prize money, don’t forget the Browns Race – meet at the Lorneville Corner at the Challenge Station at 10.45am for an 11.30am race start. This will be followed by some more great fun grass racing with more great prize money – don’t miss out and support these wonderful community days or they won’t continue.
New Year Carnival and Ascot Park Hotel Criteriums
Both entry forms for these New Year events are now online. Confirming the ILT Track Carnival will be on the evenings of Friday 22 and Saturday 23 January. The Ascot Park Hotel Criteriums will be held on Sunday 23 January.

Holiday Closure Dates
The office will officially be closed from 2pm on Tuesday 22 December and will reopen on Monday 11 January. The Stadium closing dates are from Thursday 24 December 2015 and reopens on Tuesday 5 January 2016. The track will be able to be used but no bookings will be taken while the Cycling office is closed.
Holiday Programme
In conjunction with ILT Stadium Southland, we will be offering a Holiday Programme on Wednesday 13 and Wednesday 20 January from 9am to 10.30am, so spread the world.
The Stadium will be putting this out in the near future and taking the registrations so please don’t try to register through me.
Track Nationals Expressions of Interest
Anyone wanting to be considered by selectors for next year’s Elite and Age Group Track Nationals can let me know at the office from now.
These will be passed on to the team for final announcements in the New Year.
Finally, it was a truly massive three days of racing at the first World Cup in Cambridge over the weekend. Well done to all our Southland riders on some fine performances and to all the southern commissaires who travelled to help ensure it ran smoothly.

So that’s it for a short, sharp round up of things this week.
See you at the Track Champs this weekend
