Well it’s not long now until the Commonwealth Games, just 8 days and a few hours away, and the Junior Worlds in Korea, being held from 8 to 12 August, and all our fantastic Southland representatives are doing their darndest to get the final lead-in right on track for optimum results at these event.
Good luck Eddie, Matt. Tom, Pieter, Stephie and our U19s Mike, Laura and Nick – we’re all thinking of you during this time and we will be watching, supporting and cheering you on all the way!
Cycling Southland AGM
A reminder that nominations for our Cycling Southland executive and selectors need to be with our Acting General Manager Walter by 5pm this Thursday 17 July. Senior Racing Tonight
Tonight's racing programme is as follows:
Race one: double elimination (2 lives)
Race two: 3 lap derby heats
Race three: 20 lap scratch
Race four: 3 lap derby final
Race five: 16 lap team pursuit
Race six: flying 200
Race seven: 12 lap handicap
Race eight: standing 500m
Race nine: 40 lap motorpaced

Baxter & Neilson Junior Racing
The second series of the Baxter & Neilson Junior Racing will be held this Friday night from 6pm to 8.30pm. Make sure you get your $40 series payments to the office and head along for some great racing this Friday.
Saturday Road Racing
This Saturday two separate races will be held with a Time Trial kicking off at Waianiwa at 11am, followed by a team race. Please register online her by midday this Thursday
Remember if you cannot manage or marshall when appointed, it is your role to arrange a stand-in or swap with someone on another day and notify me at the office please.

Finally, in closing, huge congratulations to our Life Member and former patron Sonny Broad and his wife Lesley on celebrating the grand milestone of their 60th wedding anniversary yesterday.
