Hello everyone for another sunny Tuesday in the south!

A wee bit of last minute business this weekend with track arrangements sorry due to late notice of the Great NZ Craft Show being in residence in the Velodrome. Accordingly, there will be no sessions before 10am or after 5pm on Friday, Saturday or Sunday sorry. Apologies for the late notice but this will see the cancellation of Flyers and Junior Racing on Friday night. There is also to be no motorbike use throughout Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Saturday Road Race – earlier time!
This Saturday the Browns Graded Circuit will now be held at the earlier time of 11am (10.30am report) due to our very dear friend Grant Toomey’s unveiling at Eastern Cemetery at 2pm – all cycling fraternity welcome. Please register online by midday Friday. Well done to all those who took on last week’s double header challenge and to everyone who assisted to help make it happen – check out the race report/results by clicking here

Yunca Meeting
The fortnightly Yunca meeting will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7pm in the Cycling general manager’s office and attendees can then slip through to the club meeting next door.

Next Club Meeting & Movie Night (Pantani – the Accidental Death of a Cyclist)
Our next club meeting will take place at 7pm tomorrow night (Wednesday 10 September) in the Sarah Ulmer lounge and will be followed by a screening of ‘Pantani – the Accidental Death of a Cyclist’. Come along to find out what’s going on and to watch a fascinating movie about the most important Italian cyclist of his generation. Please bring a plate to share.

Yunca Junior Tour sponsorship opportunities
It's that time of year again!  The Yunca Junior Tour of Southland brings under 19 riders from around NZ and Australia to Southland.  This year’s event is looking to be phenomenal.

Events like this do not happen without hours of preparation and sponsorship.

We are looking to add more individuals and companies to our wonderful Junior Tour sponsorship team.  If you, or someone/company you know would like to come on board or find out more about sponsorship, please contact Linda Partridge 0212415604 or [email protected].  We have sponsorship packages for every budget.

In return for your support, we will acknowledge all sponsorship (unless you wish to remain anonymous) and also work with corporate sponsors to best support their company.

We look forward to hearing from you and having you on board for Yunca Tour 2014.

Yunca Billets
We still need some beds for Australian Yunca riders please – anyone able to offer please contact the office [email protected] all help greatly appreciated!

Baxter & Neilson Junior Racing
Results from round 4 can be viewed here The next round will be held on Friday 19 September.

NZ Principals Conference
The club has the opportunity to provide some demonstration racing as part of the upcoming NZ Principals Conference in September.  We are keen to get a group of U17-Elite riders together for some demonstrations racing on:

Wednesday 24 September:             5:45pm – 6:45pm
Thursday 25 September:                  7:00pm-7:45pm
If you are available please contact the office confirming which days you can assist.

Junior Club fundraising – who’s keen?
On Friday 3 October for the Yunca Junior Tour, a BBQ fundraiser is being planned at Teretonga. If anyone is keen to get on board please email Julie on - [email protected]  or alternatively ‘private message’ on facebook byy Friday 12 September at latest please.

Track Nationals – accommodation and juniors
There are accommodation reservations currently being made/pencilled in for teams for  both Elite/U19 & Age group events.  Those new to the club and racing should be aware that you will need to be selected to attend these events. I should be expect that the team will be substantially smaller than those we have had at our own hosted events at our track. The intention would be that we do stay together as a team.  Once we get Oceania’s and Yunca done and dusted we can look further into these events and the likely make up of the Junior team.

Lost property
A member has lost their Levine silver pump, complete with disc adaptor, last week either at the track or even maybe left in the car park while packing up. If anyone has seen or picked this up please let me know at the office thank you.

Okey dokey that’s it from me as the sun beats down out there in the clear spring skies of the south today.
Take care everyone and behave out on the roads!
