Another Tuesday of another week team – where do they go!

Huge congrats to pilot Laura Thompson and her tandem stoker Emma Foy on their two silvers at the Para-cycling World Road Cup in Germany over the weekend – certainly on form for more great’s at this weekend’s World Road Champs Read more here

AGM Outcome
A very big thank you to our outgoing executive members Tony Hammington, Trevor Johnston and Tony Ineson for their service to our organisation in their capacity as executive members. While Tony I continues as the club’s Patron and Wednesday Worlds Co-ordinator, Tony Hammington is now leading the Tour of Southland committee. For those that have now stood down and we wish them well with their work and personal endeavours and look forward to seeing them at the track for future events or out at weekend racing. Your contribution has been invaluable.

Welcome back to Toni Green and Erin Criglington and welcome aboard to our new executive members Reece McDonald and Adam McLeay. We look forward to a great year ahead. 

Saturday Road Racing
A great turn-out for the Lorneville-Woodstock on Saturday and thanks to all the race officials and support team for the day. Read the results here

This Saturday is the Woodlands Graded – the 2nd in the Winter Series. Register online here

This week we will be running a D Grade – recreational ride for majority of the distance and race the final 10kms for those who want to. So rec guys and junior riders, it would be great to see you there. 

Oceania Southland Skinsuits
If anyone is requiring new a skin suit before Oceania please contact me with your size and we will place a new order as we have limited stock and sizes in the office. 

Yunca Tour and Junior Track Carnival
These events are just around the corner and we couldn’t run without all our wonderful volunteers. So if you are available for any of these please let us know as there are many roles that still need filling. 

Help Required - Junior Road Riding
We have a lot of young up and coming cyclists that are keen to learn about road cycling and are aspiring to ride this year’s Yunca Junior Tour of Southland. Is anyone available to assist these young ones in teaching them basic road racing skills and going on a bunch ride with them on Sunday mornings? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. 

Baxter & Neilson
Baxter & Neilson kicks off this Friday night so please make sure you have registered & paid at the office. Please find attached updated rules and regulations. Updated roll out info is as follows: U13 – 5.6 meters, U15 – 6 meters. U17 – 7 meters and U19 – 7.93 meters 

Free Nutrition & Hydration Workshop
Sports Southland are offering a free nutrition & hydration workshop presented by Aimee Hall (nee Burns) who is one of the most qualified and experienced professionals in the Sport Nutrition field for Southland. Monday 10th August 7pm. Please find attached flyer for more info. 

Velo South Sunday Bunch Rides
The team are running a bunch ride from Countdown North Road at 9am Sunday mornings for anyone who can maintain around 27kph. You are advised to dress according to the weather and have a spare tube and pump with you in case of a puncture. If the weather is looking grim please check out the Velo South Facebook page at 8.30 as all cancellations will be posted on here.
