After a bad week it was good to have fine weather for Saturday's Thornbury 75km graded race.
There were 21 riders which was up on last week but still a disappointing turnout. A and B grade were combined with 13 riders. There were constant attacks throughout the race with Garry Smith prominent and he took the race comfortably followed by Michael White in 2nd and Aaron Sinclair 3rd (first B grader). The rest of the field stretched with some not finishing.
C grade had eight riders and they stayed together for the first half of the race, however split during the second half. The third lap took its toll and the the bunch was spread out coming round the final corner. Tony Hammington crossed just ahead of Grant Colbran. Max Anderson finished fast for third over Craig Sadlier.
Thanks to the Marshalls, Robin and Lindsay. There are only a few more races left in the season so it would be good to end on a high and have a few more riders out there supporting them.
