Stonewood Homes Gore to Invercargill Classic
The longest running club classic in New Zealand, the Stonewood Homes Gore to Invercargill Classic, is back on Thursday 25 January 2024. The event will feature an Open Handicap Classic with great prizemoney on offer - $500 for first across the line, $500 for the fastest time, and $500 for the first female rider. There will also be a U15/U17 Junior Handicap, as well as an U13 Junior Handicap.

JUNIOR RIDE  - U17/15 36km Handicap

- Parking is at the old hall on Rimu - Seaward Downs hall. Any overflow parking off the road and on North side of Rimu Seaward Downs road please.

- Rider registration at 5:30pm Seaward Downs

- Race starts at 6:00pm

- Race finishes just past McQuarrie Park (near Kew Bowling Club)

- Presentations immediately follow the conclusion of the race

 

JUNIOR RIDE  - U13 16km Handicap

- Race starts at 6:00pm

- Race finishes just past McQuarrie Park (near Kew Bowling Club)

- Presentations immediately follow the conclusion of the race

 

Riders have to ride in their age categories

-Please note that no following vehicles are allowed on the course, all riders must have a race number on them while racing on open roads and all riders must have a current Cycling New Zealand Licence. 
The Stonewood Homes Gore to Invercargill Senior and Junior Race will be run under Cycling NZ Rules, NZ Road Code and is permitted on the roads under COPTTM. COPTTM does not allow any vehicles involved in the event to impact the normal operation of the road. This means only vehicles engaged directly by the event organizer are allowed to be seen following / engaged with the race. This includes vehicles bunny hopping to watch their rider, this is not a normal driving behavior and you are impacting the normal operation of the road. Riders associated with unauthorized vehicles seen following / interacting with the race in an unsafe manner will be removed from the race.
Please make sure all riders are aware they are required to be self sufficient and able to look after themselves at all times.
