James Williamson's victory in the Elite Road Race in Christchurch today completed an historic double for the Wakatipu/Central Otago club and Cycling Southland following on the heels of clubmate and triathlete Nicky Samuels' victory in the Womens race on Saturday.
Cycling Southland's Nicky Samuels thought so little of her chances of winning the RaboDirect Elite National Road Cycling Championships in Christchurch today that she planned a training run for immediately after she finished.
Westley Gough and Peter Latham have attended world championships and Commonwealth and Olympics Games as part of the New Zealand team pursuit squad and they are not giving up on their dreams of riding in London later this year.
Cycling Southland started its 2012 representative racing year at the Eilte Road Nationals in Christchurch today in solid fashion.
New Zealand omnium rider Joanne Kiesanowski wasn't planning on spending part of January in Beijing. The Chinese capital's climate is not the most hospitable at this time of year but it will now be the next stop in Kiesanowski's Olympic build-up.
