Cycling Southland’s Phillipa Gray, Laura Thompson and Kylie Young were today named in the New Zealand Paralympic Games squad to line up in London in September.

While most cycling attention is on the London Olympics, a group of up-and-coming talent is leaving no stone unturned to reach the top of the world. The 16-strong BikeNZ junior track cycling team heads overseas in the coming weeks to prepare for the UCI World Championships to be held on home territory in Invercargill on 22-26 August.

With an average age under 20 years, a youthful BikeNZ-Pure Black Racing team will take on their ultimate test that will sort the men from the boys in the An Post Ras Tour of Ireland starting on Sunday.
