DAY 1: FOX CLAIMS MacLEAN TROPHY WITH NARROW KILO WIN
9/12/2011 - The opening night of the 2012 Southland Track Cycling Championships featured Time Trials and Scratch Races.
The first event on the programme saw a closely fought battle in the Under 15 girls 500m Time Trial with Aly Doherty taking the gold medal after completing her two laps in 45.140 seconds, just 0.4 seconds ahead on Madeleine Gough with Emma Cumming less than a second further back in third (pictured left).

DAY 2: AITCHESON AND PRESBURY DOMINATE UNDER 19S
10/12/2011 - Another swag of Southland titles were handed out at the ILT Velodrome in the Sprint and Points Race competitions. Laura Heywood confirmed her top seeding in the Under 17 Girls sprint, recording 13.531 in qualifying and then she and Libby Bayne qualified for the final following their three-up semifinal ride. Heywood proved too strong to take the gold medal two-straight with Bayne earning a deserved silver and Mayayla Smith bronze.

DAY 3: UNDER 13s A GREAT ADDITION TO EVENT
11/12/2011 - The final day of competition at the 2012 Southland Track Champs saw Individual Pursuits and Kerins for the big guys and girls and Derbys for the not so big.
It also featured the debut of our Under 13 boys grade which provided some spectacular finishes with a 750m Derby, 250m Time Trial and 1.5km Scratch Race.
