This week’s Cycling Southland annual general meeting presents a formal opportunity to look back at the last 12 months and look forward to the club’s next exciting chapter.

The finals of the Lone Star Speights Corporate Roller Racing saw record times being set throughout the night.

A good hour of racing was had by all on Tuesday, with a couple of visitors to town in Division 1 changing things up a bit and keeping it interesting.

Gidday team. Another big week at home and abroad with a fantastic club race at Waianawa, more great results internationally, the culmination of our Lone Star/Speights Corporate Roller Racing Challenge and the end of broken night’s sleep with the finish of the Tour de France. Any idea how we could light up the water tower at the end of our Tour like the Arc de Triomphe? 

BikeNZ's Junior Worlds endurance riders showed their form over the weekend with a brilliant trifecta to dominate the podium and scoop the first three places in the Dentergem Kermesse in Belgium.

The final heat of the Lone Star - Speights Roller Racing has seen the leaders board have a serious shake up with three new teams placing themselves at the top of the table.  The large supportive crowd were treated to a highly competitive night of racing from beginning to end. 

Waianawa played host to a full day of club road racing on Saturday with a morning time trial followed by an afternoon teams road race. Check out the day's action here.

Junior Racing kicked off in this ‘new’ season with a flourish, with the young guns putting on a show of outstanding skill, speed, and tactics, topped off by a Madison for those who had taken part in the Madison Training through June and July.

What an awesome night of roller racing – it has got better and bigger as the weeks have gone on as the final teams lined up at the final heat 4 of the Lone Star-Speights Roller Racing last night.

At just 20 years, Stephanie McKenzie has a big goal – and it’s been a long-term one for many years.  That is to be selected to ride for New Zealand at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and then the Rio Olympics in 2016.

Here is a sentence you hear very often: We are very lucky to live in Southland during the winter. This statement can however, be backed up by a number of facts.

What a week of awesome news we’ve had  from the International stage of Tier 1 sprinting at Adelaide, Tarsh and Sequoia doing their bit carving it up in T-Town, to Glasgow Junior Worlds departures and some top results and fierce racing – in some torrid conditions – for the Secondary School road champs in Christchurch during the weekend – totally awesome work to everyone

This week we were paid a visit by a couple of good blokes from up north somewhere who wanted to get a handle on how one of these velodrome things worked. They were looking at the feasibility of building a similar community facility for their home patch.

A clear and sunny (but very chilly!) day greeted riders at Woodlands, for the 2^nd race of the winter season and the 1^st of the 2013 Winter Points Series races.

Cycling Southland's Eddie Dawkins and team mate Simon van Velthooven scored wins on day three of the international track cycling series in Adelaide last night.

Invercargill's Matt Archibald was the best of the Kiwis at the International Track Cycling Series last night making the sprint quarter and semi finals at the Adelaide Super-Drome. 

The Lone Star-Speights Roller Racing battle continued between teams involved in this year's WHK Corporate Pursuit on night three last night.
