The finals of the Lone Star Speights Corporate Roller Racing saw record times being set throughout the night.
Seven teams were back to take on the team effort after qualifying over the past four weeks. The finals saw four teams move through to the finale after setting times up to 10seconds quicker than they had achieved in the previous weeks heats.
In the end the inaugural champions were Fonterra, taking the title by a slim 0.504 seconds from AWS Legal combination, closely followed by the NZ Fire Service. All three teams saw record-breaking individual efforts with times in the 22 second range over the 500metre distance
30 teams now shift their focus to the fast approaching WHK Corporate Pursuit, which sees qualifying on Sunday 4 August before the knock out competition commences a week later on Sunday 11.
Based off the competitive nature shown during the roller racing the velodrome looks set to be hosting another successful corporate event.
