A good hour of racing was had by all on Tuesday, with a couple of visitors to town in Division 1 changing things up a bit and keeping it interesting.
Also in Division 1, we welcomed back our Tom Beadle with open arms and he proceeded to tear everyone’s legs off! Showing excellent form after his stint in Europe, Nick Kergozou was the only rider able to stay close to the rising sprint talent in the closing stages of each race.
In Division 2, Mark Day was the stand out rider, showing excellent form, with Tim Maynard also racing well.
Tuesday was the last of the Madison racing series, following a month of Madisons tagged on to the end of each race night. Numbers were down a little bit this week for the final race in the series, with a few riders who did the training programme out of town or with other commitments, and the racing lost its shine a little as a result. However, we have had some excellent racing over the last month and a huge increase in skill, and we owe Stu MacDonald a massive THANK YOU for all his work in this area. We will continue to have the odd Madison during racing throughout the season, so no-one forgets how they work and - due to popular demand - Stu may look to offer a Madison training session or two to others who are keen to learn.
Anyway, to finish off, a big thank you to my helpers this week– my lap boarders and bell-men, Hamish Beadle, Caleb Hope, and also to Stu MacDonald, who rode the motorbike for the keirins.
