The recent Central Otago Top Bike Competition was held recently at Alexandra with a total of 39 teams representing schools from throughout the Central Otago region taking part.
And so it began under the Friday Night Lights in Trexlertown.
Cycling New Zealand will take their biggest and strongest group of sprint cyclists to USA and Europe for a training and racing block to prepare for this summer’s all-important international campaign, including six elite Southland riders - more than half the squad.
Some of New Zealand’s leading cyclists will get a baptism of fire when they return to track competition across the Tasman tomorrow, including siz Southland elite and under 19 riders.
As a 13-year-old, Allan Dunn climbed on his rickety bike and went for a training ride with a mate.
