Whyte’s Gravel Supplies demonstrated in round two of the Cycling Southland Corporate Pursuit Roller Racing series that they are a team to watch for in the main event.
One of the first teams away for the second heat of the Lone Star/Speights Roller Racing challenge, the quartet set a blistering 1:45.930 to not only take out the nights racing, but also place themselves firmly at the top of the overall leaders board.
One key reason was the efforts of Tina Reynolds who lowered her 27second effort in the team section to then go onto stop the clocks with a 25.830 in the women’s final. While Nick Barclay (Fire Service) won the men’s final with an impressive 24.367
The top eight teams over the three weeks of heats will go on to do battle on the final night being held on Tuesday 23 June.
