The combiend Rotary Clubs of Wanaka and Roxburgh are hosting their inaugural Dam to Pub Quest for Gold Cycle Race on Saturday 21 March.
With the choice of riding or racing the event, participants can choose their own pace
Everyone starts at 10am in the Roxburgh Dam car park and 53.7kms later the prizegiving will be held at the Grand Tavern in Roxburgh.
There is lots of variety, undulating to flat to meandering terrain. There is the odd tight corner, the odd long incline, some quick downhills that serve to keep you, excuse the pun ‘on track’! The area is steeped in gold mining history, discarded relics of that bygone era, orchards, farms with sheep and cattle , rugged stone outcrops and stunning vistas of the Clutha River.
