The Meridian Whitehill Classic is on again on Saturday 27 February 2016.

For the first time the event will include a Duathalon; approximately 4km run and 6km bike. 

This event fits between the Moonshine and Motatapu on the Calendar.

2 When - Sat 27 February

3 Start time 11am with race briefing at 10.45am

4 Events Full bike 25km, Recreational bike 17km, X-country run 13km, Junior bike 4km, Recreational Walk 9km. plus new duathalon

5 Race profile and enter online  at www.whitehillclassic.co.nz. to win the main spot prize

The Meridian Windfarm Classic  provides the public with a once a year opportunity to race around and appreciate the enormity of the wind turbines whilst taking in the stunning views of the Takatimu and Eyre Mountains.

There will be a continuous BBQ and generous spot and placing prizes.

All proceeds are donated to local clubs and organisations and in return they provide labour on the day. 

Recreational rides in the area to try as well; West Dome and Mount Bee, also the new around the Mountains Cycle Trail is expected to be completed and open into the Windley Valley (beside the Oreti River to Mavora Lakes).
