The "Dash for Cash" includes $500 for each of the fastest man and woman over the 23km course down the "Around The Mountains Cycle" Trail.
The Trail follows the Oreti River where it exits from the Eyre Mountains, meandering through tussock and farmland.
This is a time trial race for cyclists. Your choice of person powered bike, no drafting. There is also a recreational section for family and electric bikes.
John Knight of Queenstown holds the record at around 38 minutes, although the course may differ at the finish this year.
