My name is Olivia Ross and I am a manager for Beef + Lamb NZ based out of Gore.

This year along with a number of other national partners we are involved in the FarmStrong Cycle tour.

In March, the inaugural Farmstrong Fit4Farming cycle tour will travel the length of the country to raise awareness about the benefits of rural communities being more active.

As part of this a core ‘peloton’ of 20 farmers and sponsors will be riding the country from Ngatea in the North to Bluff in the deep South to raise awareness about the importance of keeping fit on the farm. These folks are as passionate as we are about doing something to improve the health of rural communities.

The Tour makes five stops along the way so you can join in the Farmstrong Fit4Farming cycle challenges in your region – Waikato, Taranaki, Manawatu, Ashburton, Gore and also Bluff

At each stop there will be a range of activity options from a 5 k walk, run and ride for the young, beginners and first-timers up to longer runs and rides for more adventurous exercisers.

Together with Vet South Winton we are organizing a ride from Gore to Winton where we are aiming on getting 100 farmers to join in on (63km).

Beef + Lamb are having riders on the peloton as it comes down the country and as a manager we have been asked to ride the Cromwell to Millers Flat leg along with the Gore- Winton and Bluff hill. I only own a mountain bike and haven’t really done a lot of biking so this is a real challenge in its self.

I am wondering if you have a road bike or know of one I would be able to use over the next two months and for the event to represent the Sheep & Beef farmers and do my bit for this challenge.

I appreciate your time and look forward to your reply.

For sizing purposes Olivia is 164cm tall and 80kg. If anyone can help please contact me at [email protected]

Kind Regards
