It’s official, Team Southland have arrived in Napier!! Bags, bikes and boxes galore, the first 10 members of the team are happily settled into the Napier Top 10 Holiday Park with the rest of the crew arriving up over the next day or two.
After settling into our ‘chalets’ and cabin, putting bikes together, a quick ride for some and heading off for a supermarket run, we were ready for our first group meal courtesy of our first night chefs Stewart, Jen and Josh – and a fine job they did! They have set the bar for the week ahead ... watch our Master Chef, you might be conquered by Holiday Park Chef!
We met Nick and Michelle Kergozou in Napier upon their return from the Wagga Wagga Tour in Australia so it was great to hear all their stories (and admire their Aussie tan!)
Tomorrow we are heading out to check over the Time Trial course, pick up another seven of the team and get our racing heads on ready for Thursday’s Time Trial.
