Karwowski ninth in World Cup cycling

Southland-based Cameron Karwowski finished ninth at the UCI track World Cup in Cali, Colombia today.

Karwowski clocked 1:03.546 in his run to be ninth from the 20 starters in the 1000m time trial. He started fast before dropping to 11^th fastest midway through, and recovered for his ninth placing.

Colombia’s Fabian Puerta won in 1:00.92.

Karwowski is the sole BikeNZ rider at the opening round of the Wold Cup.
