Welcome to a short week everyone and the 20th edition Vital Signs Tour de Lakes went off with a bang so a huge well done to Dunny and all his willing, loyal team of workers for making it happen again this year. Huge congrats to all our local winners and stage winners – there were some tremendous results. Check out all the results and great photos here

Cycling Southland Club Meeting
Our next Club Meeting will be in the Champions Lounge on Wednesday 22 April, at 7pm. All welcome. 

Nominations for Cycling New Zealand Road and Track Awards
Cycling Southland Executive are inviting members to put forward nominations for consideration for the annual Cycling NZ Road and Track Awards Click here to ready more and find out about the categories and requirements. 

Saturday Road Racing
With only a few weeks left of racing before a winter break, make sure you enter online for our weekly racing. This Saturday is the Gorge Road-Pine Bush-Gorge Road handicap race. Entries close midday Friday. 

10th Anniversary Corporate Pursuit
Get your entries in now for the 10th anniversary Corporate Pursuit, which is again being held in late June. All general entries received before 30 April will  go in a draw to win 50% of your entry fee back.

All willing helpers and/or coaches able to lend a hand with team training or generally helping at the Friday night Time Trial on 19 June and race day on Sunday 28 June please let me know [email protected] 

Te Awamutu and Club Road Nationals
This week many of our crew are heading north to defend titles and compete at Te Awamutu and the Club Road Nationals in Hawke’s Bay. Good luck to manager Alan Strong and his team of riders Brendan Akeroyd, Alistair Burnett, Hamish Keast, Stephen Keast, Sam Kopae, Samuel Miller, Anton O’Connell, Tom Sexton, Hayden Strong and Corbin Strong – hope you fly over the coming events everyone. 

Tuesday Night Senior Track Racing
With the darker months upon us, we will try and resurrect Tuesday Senior Racing from next week 7-9pm.

 

All welcome from second year under 17s and over. Please head along and support these discounted track sessions that only cost the $6 rider fee or a concession card check. Check out the weekly schedule here

UCI Track Event announced
Cambridge has announced it will host a UCI Track World Cup from 4-6 December Read more here. Accordingly we will be announcing a change of date for our Southland Track Championships this year … watch this space
