Happy wacky Wednesday everyone!
Well the weather may be being a bit rough right now but it’s great to see so many making the most of the dry conditions under our roof at the SIT Zero Fees Velodrome – that includes all our teams who are gearing up for the Architecture Unlimited Track Challenge which comes to the big race day on Sunday 30th June – less than a month to go now folks. Keep up the training teams and good luck for the coming weeks.
If anyone is keen to lend a hand on the day of the Challenge, please let me know and we’ll find something for you to pitch in with.
Cheese Roll Fundraiser
It’s the final countdown to cheese roll day this Saturday 8th. Grab as many people as you can and head down to the Pipe Band Hall, beside Splash Palace. Doors will be open from 8am to let people work around other commitments on the day – only 41,000 of the little suckers to spread, roll, package and deliver so see you there!
Road Racing Restart
Sorry Junior Division but it’s cheese rolling for you and your travel for future events will benefit greatly as a result. For seniors we kick off the winter programme with the Woodlands graded circuit race. Assembly at Woodlands School for 1.30pm racing.
Check out the race calendar and please take note of the rules and ensure that you are licenced for racing.
National Track Series
A fantastic weekend of racing for the first instalment of the National Track Series during the weekend rhat even an unexpected power outage in the suburb the night before couldn’t hinder.
Seventy riders, aged from U17s to U23s from around the country, including our 12-strong Junior Worlds Track Championships team, took part in the four sessions of racing from Friday night to Sunday lunch time and the racing was hard-fought.
Check out the full results and bring on round two in Cambridge, mid-July.
Thanks once again to those who were able to lend a hand to ensure things went smoothly throughout the weekend.
