Hi everyone and this continual torrid weather must be the sign that there’s another road tour imminent!

Preparation is in full swing for the 1-7 November hit out on Southland roads and while the team numbers may be slightly down, the quality field will again more than make up for that. Check out the latest tour update here 

Road Racing Updates
There will be no Saturday club racing this weekend due to Cycling Otago’s Spring Classics Hastie Memorial Race this weekend. The premier one-day race offers $1200 in prizes up for grabs. Enter online at www.cyclingotago.co.nz for $30 per rider and then report at Millers Flat at 10am for the 125km race. 

Wednesday Worlds
The Cycle Surgery – Zookeepers Wednesday Worlds will be held at Rimu School tomorrow night, assemble at 6pm for 6.30 racing. $5 per rider. 

Junior Division Meeting
A reminder that there is a Junior Division Meeting in the Sarah Ulmer Lounge tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 6pm – all welcome! 

Peter Grandiek World Record
Our mega master of the track and current World Record holder Peter Grandiek would very much like to say a special thank you to all the officials and supporters who helped him achieve his goal during the Oceania Track Champs earlier in the month. It was very exciting and inspirational to witness Peter’s efforts and help cheer him on for every lap. Read the full story here 

Calder Stewart Elite Race Series
Congratulations to Luke Macpherson, Mike White and Brendan Akeroyd on their outstanding finish in the elite Calder Stewart Race Series. Read the full results and story here A great effort by you all champs! 

Riverton to Zookeepers Race
The Southland Triathlon and Multisport Club is holding its Riverton to Zookeeper's on Saturday 31 October. All the details including online registration can be found at www.southlandtriclub.co.nz  

Meridian Classic
The Meridian Whitehill Classic will be held on Saturday 27 February, View all the details here

Finally a reminder that our office phone number has changed to 219 9325 and the old number has now been disconnected, it is unfortunately still incorrectly listed in the phone book white pages.

Also a  reminder that the track and premises will be closed all of next Monday for the Labour Day public holiday – so a day off the boards for everyone.
