A wonderfully mild day here today and what a pleasant change it is too!
First things first you only have until end of play next Tuesday 22nd September to get your entries in for Yunca Junior Tour of Southland 2 to 4 October and the ILT Junior Track Carnival on 6 and 7 October, so make sure you spread the word and head along to to our website to register online NOW! Please remember this is our premier junior race event for the year and is regarded as one of the lading Junior Tours on the Australasian calendar with the annual event continuing to attract top riders from throughout both New Zealand and Australia. We look forward to having a strong Southland representation on board.
Oceania and Elite Omnium Track Champs
All out Southland team entries went in last night for the Elite Omnium National Champs being held in Cambridge 24 and 25 September, and the Oceania Track Champs 8 to 12 October.
Good luck to our Omnium reps Sophie Williamson, Kirstie James, Nick Kergozou, Josh Haggerty, Cam Karwowski and Anton O’Connell who are all riding for the Southland in Cambridge late next week.
Then there’s our Southland team under the team of coaches, management and handlers (Dave Beadle, Alan Pedler, Sid Cumming, Karl Watson, Sier Vermunt, Paul Sexton and Waine Harding) – with riders Sophie Williamson, Matt Archibald, Ben Stewart, Josh Haggerty, Fabian Wybrow, Jeremy Presbury, Jamie Wilson, Emma Cumming, Megan Foley, Nicole Shields, Ellesse Andrews, Mitchell Morris, Brad Knipe, Jack Pedler, Hayden Strong, Tom Sexton, Magnus Tuxen Rosing, Kain Bowles, Sam Miller and Hamish Beadle.
What a fire house team – we wish you all the best of luck in your final build up and we so look forward to having many of our stars back home racing on our boards!

Baxter & Neilson Junior Race Series
This Friday is round 5 in the Baxter & Neilson Junior Race Series before a big break until racing resumes the last day of October (yes Saturday 31st). Head along for 6pm race start and other big night of action from our juniors on the track.
Great Southern Cycle Challenge
