NO Friday Night Racing
It was initially planned, but due to the venue closing at 7pm there will be no racing this Friday night sorry.

2019 Licensing
If you are not yet licenced in time for the Southland Track Champs and Wednesday Worlds, now is the perfect timing as the 2019 season launched on 1 October – this is now valid to 31 December 2019. Jump online here or contact me at the office to help you get sorted. Those already licenced will still remain covered for this race season until 31 December when you will have to renew again.

We do offer a Family Membership discount through Cycling Southland (you need me to process this for you as it cannot be done online through CNZ). This is free Cycling Southland membership for any family after the initial two have paid, but you do still have to pay the CNZ licence fees.

Road Racing
Huge thanks to Nathan and Jennifer Shearing from Fat Hippo Design Group Limited for sponsoring Saturday’s Gorge Road Graded Race – another good turn-out of riders and the weather held up for racing View the results

This Saturday is yrless+ Waikaka Graded Race. Meet at the Waikaka Tavern at 1pm for sign on and racing at 1.30pm. Volunteers are required to marshal please.

Don’t forget to head along to Zookeepers Café Wednesday Worlds tomorrow either. 6pm registration for 6.30pm racing and entry is just $5 if you are licenced and $10 if you are not.

Rider testing

Six of our Junior Worlds and Oceania riders - Conor Shearing, La’chlan Robertson, Navarh Brotherson, Emily Paterson, Helena Rikiti and Natalie Green - will be heading back to Cambridge soon for a new selection initiative. Riders who rode at Oceania Champs or the Junior Worlds have been invited to take part in the first of these endurance camps, which will be the start of the future selection process. This is a new process from Cycling NZ with the goal to provide trial opportunities and to band together as a team before the training camps prior to the Junior Worlds. While in Cambridge, they will also be taking part in the Waikato Track Champs so we wish them all well.

Road Rules
We’ve had a complaint about riders heading to Wednesday Worlds and failing to stop at the Stop sign near Tisbury School. Can you please ensure you or your child is following all the road rules, particularly where there’s obviously one of our events being held.
