Date: Tuesday, 08 August 2017

Welcome to another week everyone,
This Friday night is round two of the King House Removals Omnium Race Series, with racing starting at 6pm. Please bring a plate for supper and don’t forget your race numbers or it will cost you an additional $5 for a replacement number so you can race.

Casual attendance is $20 per night or you can pay the full entry fee to Gerald directly or via the office with internet banking or eftpos. Contact the office if you want the account details to tidy any outstanding entries up. Check out the race schedule

Gearing clarification
We've been asked for clarification around some gearing issues.
If your junior rider is racing in the Senior Grades (A, B, or C) at Saturday club races, they must ride their restricted gearing.
They are not allowed to ride open gears.
There have also been suggestions that some riders are tinkering with their gearing after the rollout - this will not be tolerated and any riders found to be doing this will be stood down from racing.

U13 Gearing
It has been agreed at an executive committee level that U13 riders are to be restricted to a rollout of 6.0 metres for all Cycling Southland road and track events. It’s recognised this might cause a pain when it comes to riding at the Schools events, but it’s felt this is an important time of their development as cyclists and restrictions are appropriate.

CNZ and Schools will be approached to seek the introduction of this at a national level.

Raffle Book Sales
A reminder that our Bumper Club Raffle books are available for sale through the office. Books are being handed out to everyone at road racing, and track sessions, so please do your best to sell these. All proceeds will go towards new bikes for our club track fleet.

If you haven’t received a book – I have spares, and if you sell yours and want another I can help as well. All sales need to be returned to me at the office by the end of the month and the multiple prizes will be drawn on September 1. Good luck selling everyone!

Road Racing
Another fantastic turn out for the Talbot Forest Cheese Tisbury Mass Start on Saturday. Huge thank you to the Fitzsimons family for the support and all the cheesy prizes.
