Helpers for Secondary School Team Sprint Competition – Sunday 29 September
Last year we ran the inaugural Secondary School Team Sprint Competition – along the same lines as the Corporate Pursuit. We had good entries last year and it looks like we will have even more this year, which is fantastic! It is a great way to promote our sport amongst Secondary School Students, and we have had a record number of schools through this year, so we are doing some good work in this area … the competition has been a great thing for them to aim for!
We are looking for people to help with time keeping, holding and results, as well as various other bits and pieces, so if you are keen, then please let Dale know at [email protected]. The competition starts at 10am, and we should be finished by 3pm and it is a really fun day.
Thank you in advance!
Baxter & Neilson
A couple of Baxter & Neilson nights have had to be rescheduled due to various events in the middle of the track, and the recent netball test. We are good to go this Friday 20 September for our next round (although there is a Craft Show in the middle, so it is more than likely we will have a vision impairment).
The nights we have missed have now been rescheduled to 27 September and 1 November. SO, the Baxter & Neilson race nights from now until the end of the year, are as follows:
September 27
October 18
November 1
November 15
December 13
Road Race this weekend
As this weekend is the Gorge Road Memorial Race (please note earlier report time of 10.30am for 11am start) we will have a prizegiving afterwards in the Sarah Ulmer Lounge at the Velodrome. I would be great if everyone could come along, and please bring a plate to share.
Also, we need some Marshalls and would be very grateful to anyone who could please help us out. Please let Dale know if you are available. Please register online by 5pm Thursday by clicking here

Short-stay room wanted
Fabian Wybrow is moving to Invercargill this weekend to shift in with Steph McKenzie, however, rain damage has postponed his room availability for a few weeks. He still wants to come down if anyone has a spare room for a couple of weeks can they please contact Stu MacDonald [email protected] Greatly appreciated!
Well that’s another tale of epic proportions as the final piece of the transportable netball/basketball court leaves the Velodrome for what should?/will be the very final time.
This weekend we share with the Craft Show, so it’s still going to be busy for a bit yet.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
