Hi team and another cracking week it is shaping up to be.

Once again there is a stack of news to share today but the first cab off the ranks is that next week is our annual prizegiving and we need to confirm ticket numbers for catering purposes by THIS FRIDAY (17 May) please.

Happy Birthday to us
With the recent successes at the Club Road Championships it’s a good time to remind ourselves of the many champions that have worn the Southland strip over the past 50 years.  Check_them_out_here

U15 & U17 Yearly Plans
Dale has been feverishly working on plan updates and the U15 and U17 2013-2014 plans have now been updated and loaded online for viewing_here

These give a yearly overview, detailing as many dates/events as possible to try and make your life organisation a little easier, and to show how the overall cycling year is structured.  The Winter Road programme is getting closer to finalisation too, so we are just about all set for the awesome year ahead!

Don’t forget U15 gym sessions started today at 7am at the SIT gym (U17’s are already underway at the World Gym), and we start Junior Skills Sessions on the track on Thursdays 4-5pm this week.  All go!! Any queries at all please just flick Dale an email [email protected]

Draft Winter Spring Race Programme Updates
There have been some tweaks and amendments to the Draft_programme. We are looking for comments and feedback before finalising it, so drop Dale a line at [email protected] -bearing in mind that traffic management viability and costs play a big role in drafting programmes (so some of the things people want are not possible!).

Senior Road Training and Bonding Camp – June 28  - 30 - Balclutha
Alistair Burnett has been the motivating and organising force behind the idea of a Senior Road Training and Bonding Camp prior to the road racing season kicking off in July.  The aim is to have a really fun weekend with a good group of people and get some good training under our belts prior to the start of road racing in July.

The camp will be based in Balclutha, and will be the weekend of June 28/29/30 June.  There is accommodation available at Rose Bank Lodge in Balclutha, for $120 per room (Queen Bed and Single Bed), with 14 rooms available, so get in quick to book your spot! Partners are welcome to come too.

You will need to book your own accommodation at Rose Bank Lodge (phone 03 419 0021) and let Alistair know if you’re in! ([email protected] or 027 281 8745)

Westpac Chopper Ride
Well done to all the hardy and awesome riders who successfully made the big ride from Queenstown to Invercargill last Friday in near-freezing conditions and a big thank you to everyone who supported them by donating to this worthy cause. Judging by the photos online our Cathy was still smiling the whole way! The event raised in excess of $20,0000 this year and it’s not too late to make_a_donation

Part-time Work Wanted
Our Paralympian champine Philly Gray’s partner Sean Finning recently moved to the south from Australia and is keen to pick up some part-time work. Sean has prior experience in the motor industry but is obviously willing and able to try his hand at what could be on offer. If anyone has any queries or offers, please contact our esteemed leader Nick [email protected] your enquiry will be in the strictest of confidence. Thank you.

Okey dokey rokey – that’s a wrap for another week – so order those prizegiving tickets now! It’s time to celebrate and have some fun!
