Happy soggy Tuesday everyone and it’s the eve of a very exciting five days ahead as our Junior and Senior riders get ready and raring to race when the Age Group Track Nationals begin in earnest tomorrow in Cambridge!

Months of preparation are about to be put to the test and we wish all our representative crew, including team manager Mel Davidson, coach Sid Cumming and all the supportive family members who are there to ensure the team can perform to their very best, the absolute best of luck. May you all race as well as you personally can and we can’t wait to hear all the results as they unfold. Enjoy what is the first Age Group team experience to travel away in many years and let’s hope our beloved Points Shield can come “home” to our SIT Zero Fees Velodrome where all the hard graft has been put to make you all as ready as you can be for another epic battle on the boards.

All the best Age Groupers – we are with you in true southern spirit and hope can enjoy some mighty fine results – Gooooood Luccccccccccccccck from us all!

Organisational Appointments
Lindsay Jordan is pleased to announce Erin Criglington has been co-opted on to the Executive Committee.

Erin has a vast array of experience as World Masters Champion, a background of commercial and communications experience with Crowe Howarth, a fully qualified Cycling New Zealand National commissaire, a dedicated club cyclist, official and selector, as well as being a busy parent – an excellent background in providing input into the future direction and performance of Cycling Southland – both at the squad and high performance level along with Community Pathways

Up to three people can be co-opted to the Executive, at any one time,  to ensure a good balance of commercial and skills and capability. Currently there are two co-opted members – Trevor Johnston and Erin. To carry on after the AGM both Erin and Trevor can be nominated and voted on at the AGM or co-opted.

We are also pleased to welcome Danielle (Rabbit) Ralph to the support team in the Cycling Southland office. Danielle commenced work on Monday 9 March on a short-term  contract role as Development Facilitator, to assist in promotion of the various school promotions Cycling Southland  provide, co-ordination of coaches and programme delivery, co-ordination of the Road nationals team, managing the photo finish, results, timing and Big Screen, and assisting membership growth. Danielle will be working mainly 1pm – 6pm daily.

Nic Morris finished her short-term Office Administration role on Thursday 6 March – we thank Nic for her contribution.
