Fundraising garage sale
Many of you will be cleaning up around the house and section this Easter.  Before you chuck anything out, can we ask that you consider keeping aside anything that may be suitable for the Cycling Southland fundraising GARAGE SALE in July.  Remember the old idiom “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.

This is a major fundraising venture for Cycling Southland so if you have anything at all, no matter how big or small, please put it aside and we will see if we can gain a profit off it.  We do have some room to store some “goods” so please contact Bruce at Cycling Southland if you have anything you would like stored rather than dump it.

Please pass this message on to your family and friends.

Motor pacing session
At the recent coaches meeting it was agreed to trial a motorbike-pacing session on Thursdays, from 7pm, with the first one to be held next week on Thursday April 20. The initial one-hour session will be is open to second year U17 riders and upwards. The bike will start about 30kmh and increase 2kmh every 2 mins. The session is $10 per rider to cover fuel and bike costs. Waine Harding has kindly offered to ride for a couple of sessions to gauge interest so head on down. Depending on interest it may go out to a two-hour slot in time.

Lost property
I currently have a plain silver bracelet on my desk that was left down at the track last week. I also have a black and white helmet left around the same time, it is in a black Scott bag. Contact me or come and see me if either item is yours.\

Vital Signs Tour de Lakes
Safe racing and have fund to another great field taking part in the Tour de Lakes this Easter weekend. We know you will be well looked after by Dunny, his family and very merry band of loyal volunteers again this year. So enjoy the scenery and the racing!

Also a huge good luck to all those venturing north for the World Masters Games. We know you will race and compete well – so have fun in Southland style. We cannot wait to hear about all the successful results. Also good luck to Danielle (Rabbit) who is volunteering at these games as part of her development and training.

Finally, another huge good luck to Eddie, Tarsh, Kirstie, Piet and Nick who are part of the 17-strong Cycling New Zealand team competing at the World Cup in Hong Kong from tomorrow until Sunday. Race well team and go super-fast – we’ll be cheering you on!
