Hi to you all for another week and while many of us a take deep breaths still following the awesome Elite Track Nationals, things are really amping up for those travelling to Cambridge next month for the Age Group Track Nationals. We’ll be sending a team – just shy of 30 riders – up to the Avantidrome, along with their management and support team, to see if they can battle it out to retain the trophy for a record 10th year and we know the battle will be a fierce one with Wai-BOP currently one point ahead following the Elite and U19s.
Good luck everyone with your final weeks of training and preparation.

This Saturday is the first race in the South Port Summer Points Series with the Thornbury Circuit. Please make sure you register online as we need to ensure we have enough numbers to run the event.
RIDER BEHAVIOUR
I’ve had several comments come to me in the office in the past two weeks about rider behaviour and language at road races on both a Wednesday and a Saturday.
Can all riders please consider the following when taking part in a club event particularly when younger riders are around:
- Is my riding acceptable or causing someone to become aggrieved?
- Is my behaviour acceptable for the environment I’m in and the company I’m surrounded by?
- Would I want my children/parents to see me behaving like this?
- Is my language or demeanour likely to cause offense to someone?
- Am I treating new riders in an open and welcoming way?
- Am I a good ambassador for my sport?
- Is this how I would want to be treated or spoken to?
If you’re unsure whether what you’ve done or said to someone is unacceptable please feel free to contact me. I don’t want to be the one contacting you to let you know that it’s not.
Mark
So on that unfortunate note we’ll leave it short and sweet this week, it’s all focus for the Age Group Track Nationals now and a big good luck to our crew in Cali – go fast team.
