Date: Wednesday, 25 November 2015

Hi folks for another week and the end of 2015 is swooping in to meet us!

We have two key track events to wrap it all up with the Southland Track Championships and combined UCI C1 Para-cycling event being held from Friday 11 December to Sunday 13 December. Get your entries online here now

Of course anyone who is able to assist with the running of this event is greatly appreciated – particularly at this annual event as many of our key volunteers are actually riding – so please let me know if you can stick your hand up. The sessions run Friday night, Saturday morning and Saturday evening and Sunday morning until the event is completed.  We would also ask please if any out of town commissaires who are travelling south with their teams could offer some assistance.

Secondary School Track Champs
This Saturday is the South Island Secondary School Track Championships at the SIT Zero Fees Velodrome. We have great numbers from as far afield as Canterbury so it should be a great fun day of racing. Again if you want to swing by and lend a hand, the racing will kick off at 10am. Event entry is $10 per rider.

For clarification the gearings are as follows:
Roll out 7.93m for U19s (M&F).
Roll out 7.00m for U17s (M&F).
Roll out 6.00m for U15s.
Roll out 5.60m for U13s.

Baxter & Neilson Junior Racing Final Night
This Friday night at 6pm will be the final, round 8 of this year’s Baxter & Neilson Junior Race Series. This series has been massive with 60+ entrants competing across the age groups in a series of point accumulating races. Entry is free and the racing is epic so why not head along and cheer them all on for their final foray.

A hugely massive thank you again to Ray and Trish Galt for their generous sponsorship of this annual event. It is always a popular and eagerly awaited part of the Junior Division calendar. Please bring a plate for supper – your choice of what you put on it.

Road Racing
Last Saturday was the Gorge Road Memorial Road Race with a small but competitive field fronting. Check out the full report here
