Hi folks,
Well the weather’s not warming up but the lead-in to our High Octane October of events is certainly heating up!

First cab off the ranks is that the Oceania and Omnium Track Champs entries close this coming Monday at 5pm.
If you have not already signalled your expression of interest to enter – please do so now. Email me [email protected]

Just to confirm that you do NOT need a 2016 licence to enter these events. This has been waived by Cycling NZ and you can race under your current 2015 race licences – you will  however, be racing in your 2016 age group – Read all entry rules, licencing and event cost details here

Also all entries need to come to me at the office, they will be passed by the selectors before being entered from the centre (aka the office) – you do not enter individually online.

Just to confirm that you will be personally paying for your entry fees, which are included in the above document link.

Thanks for your time on this – we are looking forward to having an exciting team on the boards representing Southland in October.

Yunca Tour and ILT Junior Track Carnival
Entries are starting to build for both these events at the start of October – entries close 5pm Tuesday 22 September – so get online now and get entering!

Anyone still willing to assist with any of these upcoming events, including the Oceas and even the SBS Bank Tour of Southland in November, please just let us know of your availability at the office – all assistance is hugely appreciated to make all these events the absolute best we can!

Saturday Road Racing – change of circuit
It was a shame the morning Time Trials had to be cancelled due to the poor weather on Saturday but race manager Ray Robinson and his willing team of helpers still made the best of it with a decreased field for the Tisbury Team race in the afternoon. Read the race report

This Saturday the Cruickshank Pryde Grove Bush-Springhills 80km Graded Handicap has been changed to the Cruickshank Pryde Woodstock Graded Handicap due to a stack of roadworks on the original circuit. Register online here. Meet now instead at the Mabel Bush Hall for three laps of the Woodstock circuit and a massive thank you to Cruickshank Pryde for their support of our Road Racing season!

Geo W Wilson and Sons Ltd/Southland Farm Machinery Ltd Cycle Classic - Gore to Waikiwi
We’re all good to go with one of our great Cycle Classics again on Saturday 26 September with both Geo W Wilson Ltd and Southland Farm Machinery Ltd joining forces to offer some great prize money through their very generous sponsorship of this race again this year – champion local businesses! Get your entries in online now

Baxter & Neilson Junior Race Series
We’re halfway through this year’s 8 series rounds and it was yet another epic night of racing last Friday with 65 riders now registered across the U13 to U19 age groups. It’s very exciting stuff indeed so feel free to head along on the remaining race dates for some free track action from our flying juniors!
