Hi everyone, it’s amazing to think the 30th Anniversary 2013 Yunca Junior Tour has been and gone already – and what a ripper it was with the weather gods being so kind this year. It was a fantastic three days of racing from all involved and congratulations to all those who took part and gave it their absolute best! An extra special congrats to our Under 19 tour winners Laura Heywood and Josh Haggerty, who ended his junior career in outstanding fashion by also taking out all three U19 men’s jerseys as well Read all about it. If you haven’t caught up on the results, daily wraps and photo albums you can check them out at www.cyclingsouth.org.nz or on our  Facebook page

So now it’s on to the ILT Junior Track Carnival, which kicks off tonight and finishes tomorrow (Wednesday), with both sessions starting from 6.30pm. Adults are just $10 entry and seniors and students $5 so we look forward to seeing you there and egging on the competition on the boards. Check out tonight’s programme and all the details

Not to be outdone in achievements this week, we need to remember our Masters Erin, Rog, Neil and Simon, who are currently competing at the UCI Masters Worlds Track Champs in Machester. Erin has had a big two days of action coming out trumps with two silver medals for her efforts in the 500m TT and Scratch Race – so a huge congrats from us all to Erin and the rest of the team as they continue their campaign this week, finishing on Saturday. Good on ya Ray!
It’s great to see our Cycling Southland superman Ray Robinson getting back on his bike and giving mate and Masters Worlds rider Colin Claxton some egging on during his pre-Manchester build up on our Velodrome boards last week. So now he’s taking it one step further and riding the 287km Milford Sound to Invercargill ride to raise funds for Southland@Heart – a fund for local children with heart problems. Ray has set up his online fundraising page here http://www.fundraiseonline.co.nz/RayRobinson/ so help support this worthy cause! – Go for it Ray!!

Righto – off to do the last minute bits and bobs for the Carnival – see you all there tonight and good luck to all the riders
